Methylcobalamin Injection This is a special form of vitamin B12 used to help people with peripheral and diabetic neuropathies. Physicians sometimes prescribe it to help with fibromyalgia and autism. It can be provided in several dosage forms, but we think injectable is best.
Low Dose Naltrexone Physicians frequently prescribe this wonder drug to combat autoimmune disorders such as Crohn's disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Scientists and patients have speculated that small doses of this opioid receptor antagonist at bedtime will stimulate endorphin production and your immune system.
Penile Injections Alprostadil also called prostaglandin E1 is many times not available in manufactured forms. Also, sometimes prescribers prefer a strength that is not available from the manufacturer. We can solve those issues, by compounding new strengths specifically tailored to the physician's preference. In addition we have many formulae for a preparation we call Trimix. Trimix contains prostaglandin E1, papaverine, and phentolamine. If prostaglandin E1 by itself is not giving an adequate response, perhaps a Trimix formula would be helpful.
Ammonium Tetrathiomolybdate (Commonly Called TM) TM is a very specific copper chelator. Studies have shown that reducing the copper level in the human body limits tumor forming ability. TM requires a prescription and careful monitoring of your copper levels.
When there is localized pain, one should consider the possibility of treating it topically. We are beginning to see manufactured products for treating pain topically, but compounders have been doing it for years. We usually start with a topical NSAID. Then, depending on response, or additional information on the type of pain, more ingredients might be added. Call us to find out more.
Noscapine Discover noscapine, a benzylisoquinoline alkaloid derived from poppies. Noscapine is not a controlled substance, but will require a prescription from your physician. Noscapine is currently under investigation for use in the treatment of several cancers and hypoxic ischemia in stroke patients. In cancer treatment, noscapine appears to interfere with microtubule function, and thus the division of cancer cells in a way similar to the taxanes. Early studies in treatment of prostate cancer are very promising.
We compound a variety of medications for pets. We make different medications into chicken or tuna flavored liquid, to make it more palatable for your pet. Most pets learn to love their medication, thinking it is a treat rather than medicine. Contact us to find out which medications are available in a flavored liquid.
